Maritime Excellence in a Changing World:
The Singapore Model

The maritime industry faces interconnected challenges requiring innovative approaches and collaborative solutions. This keynote explores Singapore’s maritime development as a case study for industry transformation and strategic adaptation in a changing global environment.

The presentation will examine key drivers reshaping maritime industries, including decarbonisation imperatives, technological change, shifting trade patterns, and evolving stakeholder expectations. Drawing from Singapore’s experience in balancing economic growth with environmental considerations, fostering innovation, and maintaining competitive advantage, the address will explore strategic considerations relevant to maritime stakeholders globally.

Through analysing Singapore’s approach to maritime challenges, from infrastructure development and talent development to international partnerships and regulatory frameworks, this keynote aims to provide insights for researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders navigating modern maritime governance and development across different national and regional contexts.

Enhancing Supply Chain Resilience inanAgeof Disruption

In today’s volatile landscape, global supply chains are navigating an unprecedented range of disruptions from shifting trade policies such as the re-emergence of Trump Tariffs to escalating geopolitical tensions at critical maritime chokepoints like the Red Sea and the Strait of Hormuz. These pressures, combined with mounting environmental risks, cyber threats, fluctuating oil prices, and erratic freight rates have revealed just how fragile and interconnected our logistics networks truly are.

As organizations grapple with unpredictable weather events, port congestions, commodity shortages, and regulatory changes, one question becomes paramount: How can we help companies to stay resilient when the next disruption is impossible to predict?

This session explores how technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be leveraged to re-shape supply chain and maritime resilience. Attendees will discover practical tools and strategies that harness real-time data, predictive analytics and collaborative intelligence to anticipate risks earlier, strengthen end-to-end visibility and act confidently on data-driven decisions to stay ahead of disruptions in an increasingly uncertain world.

Look forward to sharing how we can navigate and mitigate the impact of supply chain disruptions and turning it into a strategic advantage.

AI in Maritime Shipping: Practical Applications and the Road Ahead

AI in Maritime Shipping: Practical Applications and the Road Ahead
In this talk, several practical AI applications developed under Singapore’s Maritime AI Research Programme will be presented, focusing on maritime traffic safety, shipping operational efficiency, and decarbonization. These real- world implementations demonstrate how AI can enhance decision-making and operational performance in complex maritime environments.

The talk will also address key challenges related to maritime data quality and AI model assessment, and discuss proposed solutions to ensure robustness, reliability, and responsible deployment. By strengthening data governance and model assurance frameworks, the programme aims to support the long-term, sustainable adoption of AI in maritime operations.
